My favorite kind of animal is a dog. They are so loyal that it is hard to beat them for companionship. I had a cocker spaniel named Penny for almost 18 years. We put her to sleep last summer, and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. She was with us through our car wreck, the good times and the bad, and she never stopped loving us or waiting for us to come home. I will always miss her. I cried my eyes out at the movie Marley and Me. Everything was too fresh in my memory to be seeing that movie.
